Community Guidelines
Fleekart works because neighbours trust each other enough to meet and hand something over. These guidelines are what that trust rests on. They form part of the Terms of Use.
1. Be honest about what you list
- Photograph the actual item, not a stock image or a picture from the internet. Three to five photos, in good light, showing any damage.
- Pick the true condition. "Like new" means like new. If it is "For parts", say what is wrong with it.
- Say what it is. Brand, size, age, what is included, what is missing. If a charger is not included, say so.
- List it where it is. The pickup area must be where the item actually is.
- List only what is yours to give. Not borrowed, not found, not somebody else's.
- One item, one listing. Do not post the same item many times to crowd the feed.
2. What you cannot list
These are refused at publication, and listing them repeatedly gets an account suspended:
- Medicines, supplements and medical devices
- Opened, used or expired cosmetics and personal-care products
- Electrical goods that are unsafe, damaged in a way that could cause fire or shock, or have been tampered with
- Weapons, ammunition, knives sold as weapons, and imitation weapons
- Live animals
- Counterfeit or replica branded goods
- Hazardous materials: chemicals, fuel, gas cylinders, batteries that are swollen or leaking
- Products subject to a recall
- Stolen property, and anything it is illegal to own or transfer in India
- Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, and drugs of any kind
- Adult content, and anything sexual
- Personal data, accounts, licences, tickets or anything that is a right rather than a thing
- Services, jobs, rentals, property, vehicles requiring registration transfer
The list will grow as we learn. When we add to it, new listings are checked against the new list straight away, and existing listings that are affected are reviewed by a person rather than deleted silently. If your listing is blocked and you think that is wrong, use "Contact support" from the listing to appeal.
3. Treat people well
- No harassment, threats, intimidation or stalking — in chat, on a call, or in person.
- No hate or abuse based on religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, language, region or anything else.
- No sexual messages or advances. Fleekart is for exchanging things.
- No spam, no mass-messaging, no advertising other businesses or apps.
- No impersonation: not of another user, not of Fleekart staff, not of anyone.
- Respect the other person's privacy. Do not ask for their address, phone number or ID before an exchange is accepted, and do not share what you learn about them.
- Chat is text only and stays inside the exchange. Calls go through a masked number. Do not push people to move to WhatsApp or give you their real number.
4. Play fair with Plinks
- Plinks only. Do not ask for cash, UPI, bank transfer, gift cards or anything outside the app, and do not offer them. Money prices in a listing or chat are removed.
- One account. Do not run several accounts, and do not "exchange" between accounts you control to farm Plinks.
- No invitation farming. Invite real people who want to use Fleekart. Fake signups, shared devices and bulk invitations do not earn rewards and can cost you the ones you have.
- No fake exchanges. Do not complete an exchange that did not happen, for any reason, including to move Plinks around.
- Gifts are gifts. Gifting Plinks in return for money or favours is not allowed.
5. Meet safely
You are meeting a stranger. Most exchanges are ordinary and pleasant. The habits below are for the few that are not.
- Meet in a busy public place — a café, a shop entrance, a metro station, a security-staffed apartment gate. Not inside a home if you can avoid it, and never somewhere isolated.
- Prefer daylight. If it must be evening, choose somewhere well lit and busy.
- Tell someone where you are going and who you are meeting. Bring a friend for large items or anything you feel unsure about.
- Keep the details in the app. Agree the pickup point in chat, so there is a record. Use the masked call, not your own number.
- Inspect before you confirm. Check the item works, then share the pickup code. Once you confirm receipt the exchange is complete.
- Do not carry cash for an exchange. There is nothing to pay.
- Trust your instinct. If anything feels wrong, leave. You can cancel and report from the app.
- In an emergency, call 112.
For sellers: you control the pickup point. You do not have to give your home address — a nearby public spot is fine, and it is what we recommend.
6. Show up
When you agree a time, keep it, or cancel in the app as early as you can. A confirmed no-show releases the held Plinks and costs the person who did not turn up a penalty of half the agreed amount. Repeated no-shows or cancellations lead to suspension. Sellers may re-offer the item to another requester after a no-show.
7. Stories and ratings
- A New Life story should be a real photo of the real item in its new life, from an exchange you completed. Stories are reviewed before they appear, and a story that is fake, reused or someone else's photo is refused.
- Rate honestly. Ratings are two-way and cannot be appealed. Do not trade good ratings, and do not use a rating to threaten someone — that is reported conduct, not feedback.
- Do not put other people's faces, number plates or addresses in a story or listing photo without their permission.
8. Reporting and blocking
- You can report a listing, a profile, a request, a chat or a pickup from the app. Choose "urgent safety" if someone's safety is at risk.
- You can block anyone. Blocking is mutual: neither of you sees the other's listings, profile, requests or messages. It does not cancel an exchange that is already in progress — that goes to a dispute instead.
- Reports are confidential. The person you report is not told who reported them.
- Do not make false reports. Reporting someone to win a dispute, or to remove a competitor's listing, is itself a breach.
9. What happens when rules are broken
A person reviews every report. Depending on what happened, we may:
- Warn you, or ask you to change a listing
- Remove or hide a listing, a story or a message
- Reverse, withhold or cancel Plinks obtained through a breach
- Suspend your account for a period
- Ban your account permanently. A ban record is kept so the same person cannot simply come back.
- Report to the police where a crime may have been committed
Automatic interim measures. An urgent safety report, or a third report against the same account, automatically hides that person's listings and stops them opening new exchanges until a moderator has looked. Exchanges already in progress are not affected. This is a pause, not a verdict.
If you think a decision about you was wrong, appeal through Profile → Help & Support. We will tell you the outcome.
